The Covai Kora Cotton Saree is also known as Kora Cotton Sarees which are woven in Kongu Belt of Tamilnadu viz. Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode districts of Tamilnadu. Kovai Kora Cotton Sarees is GI registered product. Dyed mulberry raw silk yarn (Kora) is used in warp and superior quality mercerized cotton yarn is used in weft giving crisp handle with elegant look. The Sarees have bright coloured border designs with occasional use of shining jari. They are woven on fly shuttle raised pit looms fitted with jacquard mechanism.
